Sara Pinkepank, M.S., CCC-SLP

My name is Sara Pinkepank, M.S., CCC-SLP, and I am a licensed speech-language pathologist serving the Tulsa, Oklahoma metro area. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2014 and have worked in a variety of practice settings since then, including public schools, skilled nursing, home health, and an outpatient clinic. I started Lifespan Speech and Language Services out of a desire to serve clients of all ages in the comfort of their own homes and support them as they work toward their goals for improved communication. I am licensed in the state of Oklahoma, and I am a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I also direct the Tulsa Aphasia Choir for people with aphasia and their family members.

Communication ability has a direct impact on a person’s quality of life by affecting the ways we interact with others as well as manage our everyday lives. When it is impaired due to developmental delay, illness, or injury, the results can be devastating. I am passionate about helping people maximize their ability to reach their goals for successful communication. Through individualized therapy services, many communication impairments can be resolved. However, sometimes these disorders can be ongoing and require the learning of new strategies to maximize your strengths and improve your quality of life. I feel that client education and self-advocacy are extremely important in the experience of any communication disorder, so I will take time to provide information about the diagnosis, to answer any of your questions, and to help you brainstorm ways to advocate for yourself or your loved one as you navigate your journey with a communication disorder.

I love treating clients in their homes because it allows me to see how they function in their natural environment and design interventions that fit within their daily lives. Not being restricted to a clinic allows for greater flexibility in therapy settings as well. Need to practice your communication strategies ordering food at a restaurant? Let’s go! I will listen to what you want to be able to achieve for yourself or your loved one, whether it is remediating a lisp, being able to have meaningful conversation with a family member with dementia, or saying “I love you” for the first time since a stroke, and we will pursue those goals together.
